"Pulling into Cill Bhreac House was like taking a weight off of my shoulders. The stress of Irish driving melts away when you meet Ronan, and he shows you around the house and to your well-appointed room with a breathtaking view (front of the house-the water!; back of the house-the mountains). Though, like with all stops made in Ireland, this was to serve as a place to sleep and a base to exploring Dingle, it certainly has much more potential than that. The location makes for a casual stroll into the town, but most of the way has sidewalks, and you are walking along the bay-what isn't to love about that! The sunroom at the front of the house was very warm and welcoming. The rooms exceeded any standard I'd came with (and proved that the standard for lodging in the USA is so, so, so much lower than Ireland) and the bathroom was by far the largest I encounter in Ireland. A very comfortable night, and a delightful breakfast the following day. The eggs and toast, coffee, and fresh fruit were a great start to the day, and a wonderful way to top off the stay."
"We spent three nights at this great B&B. Beautiful location, delicious breakfast, quiet for sleeping. But what stood out for us was the effort of all staff members. It is a family run business and all of the family were kind, caring and willing to help make our vacation go well. The staff serving breakfast were so obliging and polite. Highly recommend to all! Thanks for having us!"
"Orla and Ronan are a friendly young couple who are both warm and professional, the perfect balance for us. Ronan was raised in his family's B&B business, and he and his wife have exactly the right touch for this work. Their B&B is ideally situated, with a spectacular view of Dingle Bay; the peace and quiet of "suburban" Milltown; and proximity (walking distance) to town. And they serve a marvelous breakfast, both a superb "Full Irish" and a wonderful variety of other favorites. They accommodated our children and their kids in a large "family" room. In fact, they thought of everything."
"We found this wonderful place in the late afternoon by chance, but we were immediately smitten by Orla who has to be one of the most congenial hosts on the planet. Great view, great price, great breakfast, all around great. You will enjoy your time. Again, thank you Orla!"
"By the time you read this, most BnB's in Dingle will probably be booked. If the Cill Bhreac House has availability book immediately! Very warm atmosphere and we were given the full low down on the sights to see in Dingle immediately upon arrival. It is walkable to town in about 10 minutes which I highly recommend because it is a coastline view the entire way. 10/10 would be lucky to stay here again."
"This is the perfect accommodation if visiting Dingle. Near the action yet in a peaceful, stunning location. Rooms are immaculate and breakfast delicious. You will enjoy the privelage of staying in a really warm family home without feeling like your in each other's way. Our family of 5 will definitely be back."
"So glad we chose Cill Bhteac! Clean, friendly, great breakfast. We felt so welcomed. The rooms were good sized and very clean. Orla and Ronan gave us wonderful tips on what to do in the Dingle area. Only a 10 minute walk to town was nice. Local activities were plenty, we stayed three days, but wish we had stayed more. We are so glad we stayed in Dingle. What a great place with so many beautiful sights to see"
"Best room on our entire trip around Ireland! It was super clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Great views are to be had whether your room is at the front or back of the house! We found the location perfect for a nice walk into town or super quick drive into town and then park. It was September though and pretty ample parking in the city center. Dingle will steal your heart and Cill Bhreac House is a great accommodation. Proprietors are delightful as well!"
"We really enjoyed staying in Dingle, and especially this newly updated B&B. Breakfast, and hosts were wonderful. Rooms were clean and nicely updated with a great view out the front and back of house. Just a short walk into town for drinks and dinner."
"The house is beautiful, overlooking Dingle bay and was the best property we stayed on our entire Ireland trip. We were greeted right in the driveway by John, who gave us a quick tour of the house. We stayed in the Lighthouse room, which is on the front of the house and has amazing views of the bay. The room was clean, spacious and up to date. The common lounge area with an outdoor patio is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The house is an easy 10 mins walk to the restaurants and pubs and only a block to Dingle distillery. We loved our stay here and would hope to be back.."
"We had to call to get directions through Dingle to find this B&B but the owner and his family are very helpful and gave very clear directions. The house is very nice and the breakfasts were plentiful and good. It's a very short walk to the center of Dingle."
"Our stay at Cill Bhreac House B&B could not have been better. The owners bent over backwards to assist us, the breakfasts were wonderful, our bedroom had not only a fantastic view and beds were comfortable. We highly recommend staying with them."
"It was getting late when finally arrived...Was great to hear.."Are you Ron?, We've been looking for you." Excellent location and the house is newly redone. Hosts were helpful with advice of places to go and how to get there.. Found good food locations. Beds were possible the best we had on our trip"
"A family dedicated to excellence runs this lovely seaside B&B. Recently renovated to a very high standard, the property has a homely feel. So much so my wife asked if we could stay two nights. Lovely hosts, lovely part of Ireland and lovely B&B Ticks all the boxes Peter & Lyn"
"We had stayed at this B&B 4 years ago, and loved it so much that when we went back to Dingle this year there was no question as to where we would stay! It's in a great location - close the the city center yet far enough away to be able to enjoy the country peacefulness! We had an amazing view of Dingle Bay! And the breakfast were amazingly delicious. I recommend the banana filled pancakes. A wonderful B&B in every way!!"
"This is one of our favorite B and B's. Great location with ocean views just outside of Dingle. Impeccably managed, the service is terrific and both rooms and breakfast are superb. We've stayed here on two occasions and loved it both times."
"This BnB was incredible! John picked us up from the bus station which was very nice! We didn't have a car, but were able to walk into the town very easily. It was a nice walk with beautiful views along the way so no problem! The bed was very comfortable, and the views around the house are spectacular. The breakfast was by far the best we had anywhere in Ireland! Incredible menu options, we were stuffed both mornings! We appreciated all the choices, and the kind and friendly woman who was serving us. We loved Dingle, and loved this BnB! We recommend it to all!"
"Excellent B&B. Just back from a 2 week trip to Ireland and this was our favourite B&B. The room was very nice and had a great ocean view, the breakfast menu was second to none, Angela was very friendly, and the location was perfect. I had read a review about the walk into town being a problem but we found it to be very enjoyable and very safe. There is a good shoulder and then a good sidewalk right into town."
"Absolutely loved our two nights."
"We stayed in Cill Bhreac House recently for one night as we were in Dingle to attend a family wedding. The accommodation was of a very high standard with a lovely spacious room which was both warm and comfortable. Both Angela and her husband were very friendly and welcoming and had a great knowledge of the local area. Breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of choices. We would definitely stay there again whenever we manage to return to Dingle."
"We found Cill Bhreac House a very pleasant place to stay. The location is convenient to the sights at the tip of the peninsula, to Slea Head Drive, to Dingle Town, and to Conor Pass. The hostess, Angela, is supremely friendly and welcoming, and the inn has a spacious lounge area and terrace, as well as lovely views of the surrounding countryside. My husband felt that the breakfasts here were the best of all the Irish B&Bs we experienced over two weeks; they are extensive and delicious!"
"We stayed at Cill Bhreac House for 4-5 nights in August. Angela was a delightful hostess and her husband keeps the grounds in beautiful order. She was so warm and welcoming, knew all of the best restaurants, offered to drive us into town and then cab back (we preferred to walk and stretch our legs), and provided many suggestions for sight seeing. Her breakfasts were delicious -- full "Irish" breakfast, pancakes, eggs made to order, healthy fruit, brown bread, and coffee in a French press! She spoiled us so we bought a French press upon our return home. Lovely accommodations, gorgeous and spotless decorated rooms, excellent shower, special upstairs parlor with a view of Dingle Bay for guests to relax in, and many "extra touches" that made our stay truly memorable. My husband would have liked a little harder mattress, but it was fine for me. In 6 months of travel Cill Bhreac House rates among our top B&B's in Europe! Thank you Angela!"
"Cill Bhreac House is a lovely B&B. It wasn't our first choice but we were very happy to have stayed there."
"...overlooking the harbor, great views from both front and back. House itself very nicely decorated, pretty and comfortable lounge areas on both ground and second floors. Angela's a fabulous host, warm, welcoming, full of info for dining and sightseeing options, and serves a delicious breakfast every morning."
"...we will recommend it as a good lodging option for Dingle."
"My friends and I stayed at the Cill Bhreac House for 2 nights and had a great experience. Angela is very warm and welcoming - the rooms are spotless, the pancakes are out of this world, and the location is perfect - a short drive to Dingle Town with views of Dingle Bay."
"Angela was such a gracious hostess and was very helpful. She went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed. John even explained Gaelic football to us. Her place is very clean. Breakfasts were wonderful, especially the pancakes. Beautiful view and located just outside town."
"Great B&B. Angela was very welcoming. Lovely clean, quiet rooms. A lovely sitting room with gorgeous view where you can sit and have a few drinks. Beautiful breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend this lovely B&B."
"I've been at the Cill Bhreac in August with friends. It's a lovely B&B, with spacious rooms and clean bathroom. Angela and John (the hosts) are very friendly and kind and they'd do everything to help you enjoying the Dingle peninsula. Breakfast is included and you can choose between irish breakfast, salmon, eggs, pancakes, cereals, fruit and many other things! I will definitely return there in the future! Thanks Angela & John!"
"Cill Bhreac House B&B is a great place to stay in Dingle. Angela and John were super helpful with local places of interest and dinner ideas, where to go for a run, with train schedules/reservations, etc. Their B&B is very clean and quiet and in a perfect location. Delicious breakfast options as well. We would certainly stay there again! "
"We stayed here for two nights at the end of a 2-week trip through Ireland. It was a nice quiet location. Just a couple minutes drive from Dingle or a 15-20 minute easy walk. There was a glassed-in lounge on the first floor that would be great on rainy days, and an upstairs lounge that was very comfortable. Rooms clean and quiet. The breakfast great both days, and a lot of choices available. Angela had wonderful suggestions for dinner and was welcoming and friendly. I would definitely stay again."
"Angela and John make you feel at home a soon as you step over threshold. Residents lounge on 1st floor has great view over Bay. Bedrooms are very comfortable and clean as is bathroom. Views from front bedrooms overlook bay back bedrooms have views up to Brandon Mt. The breakfasts selection is exceptional."
"It is always a pleasure staying at Cill Bhreac House with Angela and John McCarthy. I've stayed in their charming B&B many, many times and it is always a warm homecoming. They are not only gracious hosts but their B&B is warm, welcoming and wonderful. The breakfasts are fantastic and Cill Bhreac House is a perfect location for visiting all around the Dingle. The rooms are spacious and airy and have a lovely view, not to mention spotless. There is no other B&B on the Dingle that I would consider visiting and I look forward to visiting with them again soon."
"Our whole family (10 of us) stayed 3 nights at Cill Bhreac House, and we all wish we could have stayed longer. Angela was delightful. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and the sitting room with its deck was the perfect place for us to gather between excursions. Our room windows looked out over the mountains of the Dingle Peninsula, and the front looked over the bay and town of Dingle. We went fishing and horseback riding, visited ancient sites, and had a great time at local pubs. If we are fortunate enough to return to Ireland, we will happily return to Cill Bhreac House."
"We stayed here in May and it was a lovely overnight. We were warmly greeted by the owners and the House is lovely and clean. We went upstairs to the deck which has a beautiful view and had a glass of wine and watched the sun set. The food was great. We had crepes with bananas. Many different choices of breakfast foods. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it."
"We recently completed a 3 week vacation during which we drove around the entire island of Ireland. Over 20 nights we stayed in 18 different Bed & Breakfasts, paying between €50 to €80, and £60 to £65 in Northern Island. This review is based upon the relative merits of Cill Bhreac House with respect to other B&Bs that we visited."
"We picked Cill Bhreac House because it sounded like a nice place (good reviews) for a very reasonable price. We paid €65 for the one night of our stay, including breakfast."
"Because the B&B is on outskirts of town, it is able to have a large parking lot in front of the building. I was always cautious about squeezing our rental car into some of the tight parking spots we encountered in Ireland, but Cill Bhreac has no parking issues. Directions to Cill Bhreac are clear and concise, just keep driving until you are a bit west of town center and you will see their sign."
"Because it is set back from the road a bit, Cill Bhreac is very quiet, we didn't hear any noise. The rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom looks modern and clean. For breakfast I had the banana stuffed pancakes, served crepe style (rolled up). Excellent!"
"The host was especially nice. Everyone we met in Ireland was nice to us, but the Cill Bhreac proprietor was even better than that. She told us to Connor Pass, and which way to go around the Dingle drive, and about the Harry Clarke stained glass windows."
"Wonderful B&B in a quiet area in Dingle but very close to the center of town. Loved being able to see sheep out the back window and the distant views were gorgeous as well. Was welcomed with warmth and friendliness - the hosts were the best! The inn is beautiful. We would definitely stay here again."
"Angela and John were very accommodating and helpful in making plans for our activities. We were all pleased with their recommendations. The house is in a quiet setting with beautiful views of the bay. Breakfast was very good with very attentive service. The walk to and from town is very manageable as long as someone can do the return uphill walk. Otherwise, staying closer to the town center would be better. A really good base for Dingle."
"Cill Bhreac House is a lovely B&B and a great base for exploring the Dingle Peninsula. The house is located right on the lovely Slea Head Drive and is very convenient to town - a nice 15-20 minute walk into Dingle Our room was lovely and the views of Dingle Bay were awesome. Angela and John were perfect host and hostess and our breakfast were delicious. I must say a kind word about one of their employees - Maria - who tended our room. She is a lovely lady - very sweet and attentive."
"I was having a little look through these reviews as my partner and I stayed here last October half term and I have just joined TripAdviser. After reading one particular review, I felt I needed to write this as I notice someone has complained about the reaction they got on cancelling a booking. This could not be further from our experience as, after being stuck on a ferry in terrible seas for 26 hours (Swansea to Cork - boat forced to hide in a bay after hitting awful storms), we were unable to make it for our first nights stay at Cill Bhreac House. Despite the fact that it was very, very late notice, Angela was kind and concerned and would not hear of us paying for the night as part of our three night stay. It was a reaction we sorely needed and appreciated after our horrific experience on the boat and we were very grateful."
"Saying that we were very pleased with Cill Bhreac B&B would be a huge understatement :) As we are quite used to the state of various B&Bs across Ireland, we didn't expect much when arriving, but we were pleasantly surprised. The hosts were very forthcoming to all our needs, took care of our transportation from/to bus station. The rooms are very clean, well equipped. Our room had a great view over the Dingle bay! Breakfast is excellent, and they cater for special dietary needs."
"The B&B itself is a 10 minute walk from center of Dingle, which I actually consider an advantage, as there is no late night noise of tourists and pubs around, and it's not too far for a walk"
"All in all, I can definitely recommend this place if you're ever visiting Dingle."
"What a great place. The locale was very central for visiting the Dingle Peninsula and Dingle town."
"The reading room was a great place to sit, read, rest, and socialize. Breakfast was outstanding, especially the smoked salmon. Angela was a wonderful hostess. My wife and I were planning a return to Dingle as we were leaving after two wonderful days at Cill Bhreac House."
"From the moment I got back from my Ireland trip last April, I have been meaning to fill out my reviews on TripAdvisor, and mostly because I've wanted to share with the world how much I loved my stay at Cill Bhraec House."
"I had initially found this adorable B&B online, and for some reason had my heart set on staying here. (Maybe it was the porridge with Bailey's listed on their menu that had me sold.) Either way, I'm so glad we chose to stay here! Angela is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet, and she made us feel right at home."
"And the view from our room was spectacular."
"While some might complain that this B&B is slightly outside of town, I thought the location was perfect. It was away from the hustle and bustle of Dingle town - but close enough that we were able to walk there one night. (And a 2-minute drive the night we didn't feel like walking)."
"I hope to be able to return to Dingle again some day, and when I do, I definitely plan on staying at Cill Bhreac House!"
"This is a lovely B&B just outside of Dingle."
"John and Angela are very nice and the breakfasts were very good. This is more of a modern B&B, not in a historic home. The room was small, but comfortable. The bathroom was very small, but everything was functional and fairly new. It has beautiful common areas for guests and parking was convenient."
"Angela and John are wonderful hosts and couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. The view from the B&B is beautiful and it's a very short drive into Dingle Town. The breakfast is great - they even serve Bailey's for your porridge ! The rooms are clean & comfortable - it's really quite a bargain. I'd definetly recommend this B&B for Dingle travels."
"We spent six nights at Cill Bhreac House during our recent visit to the Dingle Peninsula. I have only positive things to say about the experience. Our room was quiet and comfortable... the owners were gracious and welcoming... and the house is beautifully situated with probably the best view to be found in the area. Our room was in the back, facing the sheep and the mountains. (We were offered a view of the harbor, but we chose the room in the back because it was a bit larger. It was great to have a choice.) "
"The selections at breakfast were wonderful. I started each breakfast with museli and fresh fruit from the buffet, followed by either the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs or the apple pancakes (both cooked to order). A pot of flavorful hot coffee was brought to our table, and refills were provided cheerfully if needed."
"Each time we returned from sightseeing, Angela was there to greet us with her big smile, wanting to know if we needed anything. We felt relaxed and cared for. It was a perfect place to stay on a once-in-a-lifteme trip to one of the most awesomely beautiful places on earh."
"Angela was very hospitable and helpful. We were greeted as if we were family. Loved the banana pancakes! Accomodations were clean and tidy!"
"We had an amazing stay at the Cill Bhreac house in July 2011. Angela McCarthy was the perfect host and the views of Dingle Bay were breathtaking...alas we did not spot Fungie in the bay! The Cill Bhreac house is the PERFECT homebase for exploring the Dingle Peninsula. I recommend at least two days for this beautiful region of Ireland. If we find ourselves back on the Dingle Peninsula, we will be back at the Cill Bhreac House. Thank you, Angela!"
"We enjoyed the hospitality that Angela and John provided. At the last moment we needed a place for someone in our group to stay and they were very accommodating. Loved the views including the cute sheep out back. Home very neat and tidy and would recommend this B&B to anyone."
"I found this B&B by accident, I was trying to book with her neighbour who I found in RIck Steves book and she was full but directed me to Angela at this wonderful house and my mom and I couldnt have been happier. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable but if you want a little R&R there are different sitting areas around the house, one of which has a beautiful view of the dingle bay. The house was a short walk out of town which was nice because Dingle is always full of tourists. Angela was always there to greet you whenever you came back to the house and was very helpful with where to go and what to do. The breakfast was delicious and extremely filling with a wonderful view from the breakfast room. There was free wifi and a hairdryer and a power adapter in the room which was extremely convienient. Booking with angela was very easy with email she always replied right away. Rick steves should have put the cill Bhreac House in his book, this was a great find and a great stay."
"We stayed 3 nights in this lovely b and b. Facilities are very nice and the hostess is wonderful. Breakfast was great."
"We had a horrible experience the night prior, so when we stopped at this B&B with no reservations, my wife asked Angela (hostess) if she could see the room before we checked in. Angela was very accommodating, and the room was great. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was good, but the real sell here is the outstanding view of Dingle Bay.
"We would definitely stay here again."
"Cill Bhreac House was definitely our family's favourite B&B during our Ireland vacation. Anglea gave us a super welcome. Our room overlooked the bay which was awesome (as did all of the relaxation areas in the home). Breakfast in the morning was great with plenty of choice on offer. I strongly recommend Angela's B&B to fellow vacationers."
"My stay in CIll Bhreac House was wonderful from the moment we walked in the door. Angela is a kind and helpful hostess, constantly onhand with advice and answers to our many questions. Our room overlooked Dingle Bay on a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed sitting on the guest balcony soaking up the sun. The breakfast menu was excellent - my husband enjoyed the full Irish breakfast experience while I loved Angela's pancakes and homemade brown bread. Excellent hospitality and value - we'll be back!!!"
"Cill Bhreac is located just west of Dingle. It was easy to get to and allowed us to tour the west Dingle Peninsula the afternoon we arrived. Angela was a delight and our room facing the water was great. Her breakfast was excellent. This area of Ireland is a delight to see. Cill Bhreac is a beautiful home from which to see it."
"Angela McCarthy runs a fantastic B and B. Perfect views, exceptionally clean house, wonderful breakfast. I am from Brandon, Fla so she thoughtfully put me in the Mount Brandon Room. Which of course had views of Mount Brandon, which we visited the next day. Stayed 2 days in Dingle and at the Cill Bhreac House. Tried to speak Irish with Angela who speaks in fluently. I was terrible but she praised me for trying. The room was spacious and exceptionally clean. It was extremely comfortable. Gave us great recommendations on food and places to see. I would highly suggest driving up through Connor's pass to Brandon Point. The views are spectacular. This was one of the best B and Bs are on trip. I would highly recommend staying here while in Dingle."
"At €28 per person this was real hidden gem. Angela clearly loves job and goes above and beyond for all her guests. The breakfasts were the best we've ever had with plenty of choices on offer. The house is in an ideal location overlooking Dingle Bay yet just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town for a nice peaceful break. It won't be our last vist!!"
"Angela McCarthy runs a very efficient B&B. Her breakfast offers very nice choices. The rooms were very clean and comfortable."
"I book one night's B+B in Cill Bhreac House for 4 of us (two couples, two rooms) after reading some excellent reviews here. We were not disappointed. As B+B's go this is a gem. Angela, the owner, was lovely and put us immediately at our ease after a four+ hour car journey from Dublin. The house is cosy and spotlessly clean as are the rooms, which are ensuite."
"Comfortable beds and lots of extra bedding available-we didn't need it as the weather was magnificent. I requested, and got, bay views from both rooms-an absolute joy to look out on last thing at night and first thing in the morning. The light on the water is enchanting."
"What was equally delightful was the breakfast. Angela has everything on offer from freshly prepared fruit salad, to cereal to a full hot breakfast menu including smoked salmon and eggs. We opted for the full Irish-it was one of the best I've had. Perfectly cooked and not at all stodgy or greasy. Delicious brown bread too and a view of the mountains and the lambs gamboling in the fields behind the house. Lovely."
"The house is a very short taxi ride from the town centre or a nice stroll if you are energetic. We availed of a special offer which meant we only paid 28 euro's each per night. Excellent value in these current hard times. I would not hesitate to heartily recommend Cill Bhreac House and will definitely return next time I vist gorgeous Dingle."
"Rooms overlooking the bay were a delight to the eyes. Sunrise over the bay was inspiring."
"Angela is a powerhouse of energy and enthusiasm and could not do enough for us or other guests!"
"Cill Bhreac House is a nice and cozy family run B&B. Angela, the owner, was really friendly and made us feel at home. Rooms are large and tidy, fitted with TV, hairdryer, kettle and everything you need to make yourself a tea."
"For breakfast there is a range of traditional hot meals, we had the full Irish and the portions were lovely and abundant. Homemade soda bread was nice too. The buffet had also a wide variety of cereals, fruit, juices and jams."
"We paid 28€ per person, which is great value for money, considering we're in low season now."
"I'd surely come back next time I'll go to Dingle, and recommend this place to my friends."
"My hubby and I had a lovely stay at Cill Bhreac House. Angela's warmth to her guests is a credit to her and she was always on hand with plenty of advice on what to see/do in the area. The view of the Dingle bay from our bedroom (see photo) was fantastic. Plenty choice was also on offer for breakfast. We'll definitely be back!!"
"We have just stayed for the 5th year at the Cill Bhreac Hiuse, This was the best yet. The rooms are cleaned every day, brekfast choice is 2nd to none, served with a smile. Angela and John are great hosts and are able to offer information on various trips and sights to suite all. Thank you for making our stay in Dingle very enjoyable."
"Angela and her husband made our visit to Dingle an extra special event as they warmly welcomed us into their home. Although we made the mistake of flying all night and then driving up across the Connor Pass to Dingle in a sleep-deprived state (all in a pleasant rain), Angela offered us an early and ready room to have a snack and nap before we headed out to explore the lovely countryside. She was so eager to have our anniversary trip be extra special that she and her husband even shared a congratulatory Bailey's with us after dinner. The views from the house are wonderful and center town is just a few minutes drive away. We liked that it was very quiet and out of the hustle of the summer crowd on the streets of Dingle Town, yet close enough to be easily accessible. It is also right on the beginning of the Slea Drive route, which is convenient. The only thing I would change is to get a good night's sleep closer to the Shannon airport before heading down to this beautiful place."
"We stayed in Dingle for 3 nights and this B&B was by far the best of our 12 day tour of Ireland. Angela was charming and a very good cook. Our rooms were delightful. We woke to the "baa, baa" of the back pastured sheep. The views were excellent and we were a short 5 min drive to downtown."
"I would heartily recommend Cill Bhreac to anybody heading to Dingle. The little village needs at least 3 nights to really appreciate its charm."
"This B&B was a delight in our travel. The location was wonderful with a great view of the Dingle Harbor. It was just a short hop from the main Dingle "drag" which meant it was quiet and peaceful, but easily accessible to all the Dingle attractions. We drove out the driveway and were on the Dingle Pennisula loop. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a beautiful and comfortable sitting room where we played cards and a nice little sun room sitting area as you entered. Angela was a delight and excelled in hospitality. The breakfasts were fixed to each of our wishes and were well prepared. There was ample parking for guests. We felt we got to enjoy a taste of the Irish hospitality and people that make up Dingle."
"Cill Bhreac House is very appealing to look at and in a nice location about 3/4 mile out of town (20 minute walk) so nice and quiet. There is good off road parking. The room was large, clean and tidy with tea and coffe making, TV and good sized bathroom. Across the corridor was a lovely guest lounge with a balcony to sit out with sea views. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and presented with care."
"We really enjoyed our stay at the Bhreac House in Dingle. The top 3 things about this B&B were: 1) the proprietor, Angela, 2) the views from a well-kept and comfortable room, and 3) the amazing breakfast in the morning."
"Angela was the best hostess we encountered during our 10 day stay in Ireland. She was friendly, warm, and full of stories and advice. The location of the B&B is a 15 minute walk outside of Dingle, with a nice view of the Bay. Originally, we intended to stay in town, but were pleasantly surprised with the larger (less expensive/great value and quieter) accommodations in this location."
"Side note: It is worth it to allow more time to explore the Dingle Peninsula (2 nights minimum), even though it is smaller than the Ring of Kerry. We felt ourselves slowing down to enjoy the sights and talk with the welcoming pub owners, shop-keepers, and fellow tourists. We took an afternoon to explore the Great Blasket Island (25euro, 15 min ferry ride). You can walk around the whole island in about three hours (if you choose to stay near the buildings, it will only require about 1.5 hours). Be sure to check the beach for seals! We split the 30 mile ring over two days, venturing off of the typical "loop" tourist bus path at times, exploring back roads, town, and local pubs."
"Recently we drove to the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland and stayed at the Cill Bhreac House about one mile out of town on Slea Head Drive. The owner Angela, was warm, friendly and gave excellent advice. She made breakfast to order and bakedsher own Irish Brown bread which was excellent! The B and B sits overlooking the water and our room perfectly framed the bay. We were exhausted when we arrived having driven from Dublin and Angela took us on a tour of the village in her car and dropped us at a pub for dinner. I can't imagine staying anyplace other than her comfortable B and B!"
"This is the second time I've stayed in Cill Bhreac house, and have loved it both times. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts are excellent, and Angela is very friendly and helpful. Our room's window overlooked the bay, so we were able to open the curtains in the morning to Sunrise over Dingle and the water. Over breakfast each morning, Angela would enquire as to where we were planning to travel for the day, and made many great suggestions for trips. The house is a short distance out of town, so it's a stretch of the legs without a car (maybe 15 minutes to center of Dingle), but the location does come with better views. Can't wait to stay her again."
"Everything was most enjoyable. A front room facing the bay is beautiful. The room for 2 was spacious, comfortable and clean. Quiet as well. Hosts were friendly and helpfull. Definitely stay there if in Dingle."
"Our favourite B&B during our travels throughout Ireland. The location was perfect and the views across Dingle harbour were to die for.
"Angela's warn welcome and hospitability truly made us feel like one of the family. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety (loved the pancakes!!). The rooms were spotlessly clean and cosy. We will be back!"
"My husband and I traveled with another couple to Ireland. We stayed two nights in Dingle at Cill Bhreac House. The location is just outside of town, which we liked. It was just a few minute drive to the visitor parking lot (1 Euro/hour to park between hours of 8am - 6pm) which was next to the tourist information center."
"Angela was lovely, greeting us at the door and showing us to our rooms. She made dinner reservations for us at The Chart House, which had AMAZING food. She also purchased soy milk for our friends who have food allergies and was very accommodating to their dietary needs. Breakfast was good, the view was great, and we enjoyed our stay."
"Angela served up the finest breakfast with an excellent selection of options. The home is easy to find and just minutes from spectacular shoreline, ancient history, and the harbor in Dingle. The view is great as well. Outside of the bathroom being quite small, this was a great place to stay and would make a good base of operations for the Dingle peninsula as it is close to the intersections of all the major Dingle roads. Angela made us feel welcome and valued as guests. Ask her for local travel tips as well."
"What a wonderful B&B. Our hostess was so accommodating, worrying about us all the time, "were ye warm enough? did ye have enough to eat? can I get anything more for ye?". We loved her and felt like we all came back to an "Aunt's" house in Ireland. It was simply grand! We would go back in a heartbeat. Sharon and Earl Lilley"
"The staff could not have been nicer. The room was clean and simple but comfortably furnished. The B&B has a nice relaxation room and terrace, which was great for meeting other guests and comparing travel stories. The breakfasts were stellar. The owner even offered a ride into town when I did not feel like driving to the pub. They made me feel like a long lost relative. Highly recommended!"
"My parents had told me over and over that if I ever got to Ireland not to miss Dingle! And be certain to stay with Angela at The Cill Bhreac House. They had been several times before. My older sister had been and said the same. Last year I finally made it! A close friend and I went to Dingle. We hadnt spent 10 minutes there with Angela before we felt right at home. What a doll !!! They were so nice to us.
The accommodations were very clean, charming, quiet, and the breakfast was wonderful. Angela pretty much does it all. She is very serious about her establishment and it shows. I have sent 3 families to stay there since and they all loved it!"
"We toured a large part of Ireland and this was fantastic! Beautiful town, lots of shops and Pubs. Angela was a wonderful hostess!! The food was amazing and we enjoyed the views of the Dingle Bay! This is a very nice place to stay!!"
"The breakfast was lovely and the view quite pretty. It was well located to do the must-do Slea Head Drive - probably the most scenic drive in Ireland (better than the Ring of Kerry)."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in Dingle, thanks to Angela and Marion. Angela is the perfect hostess...concerned and helpful but not intrusive. She brings the amenities of a hotel to her B&B but still keeps everything personable. And she really enjoys her guests - a true "people" person."
"All in all, a wonderful B&B experience."
"A warm welcome by Angela's husband as we arrived a bit early in the day, but no problem. Angela was home about 20 mins later and even came up and knocked on our door to say hello, and to welcome us. Cill Bhreac is a wonderful B&B. Sits up on a hill outside of Dingle town. A beautiful view of the bay from the sitting room upstairs (equipped with a telescope even!) And a wonderful view of the hills out of our bedroom window in the back of the house."
"This B&B was in the most scenic location of any that we stayed in during our 2 week trip....great location to drive the penninsula, and the Conner Pass (stunning). Great breakfast...especially the banana pancakes (Yum). As always.....more than enough food to get you past lunchtime even. If we ever make it to Dingle again, this will be our spot."
"Cill Bhreac house is in a great location; close enough to Dingle to enjoy the town itself, and with easy access to the rest of the peninsula. Angela is a wonderful hostess, very pleasant and willing to help plan adventures. The room was well appointed, the ensuite bath was spacious, and the upstairs sitting room was a bonus for guests! The view from our window was incredible. And the breakfasts - wow!"
"Highly recommend staying here and we'll be back."
"Quite possibly the nicest and most enjoyable moderately priced B&B we have encountered. Very nice, very clean, modestly decorated rooms and really excellent breakfast selections. View of Dingle Bay from rooms in the front are incredible, and views from the rear are still very, very nice. Walkable to Dingle shops and pubs for the energetic, but even if you have to drive a mile and park the views and atmosphere make this a better choice than in the middle of town."
"Don't miss Dingle on a trip to Ireland."
"We had the most lovely hosts and wonderful breakfasts. The charming little dog Holly was very sweet. The rooms were very clean."
"There is a nice room to lounge complete with refrigerator for your Guinness. The hostess even gave us a ride to town when we knew we didn't want to drive."
"The price was just right for the lovely accomodations."
"Angela is a wonderful host at this B&B, and the view overlooking the Dingle Peninsula is incredible. She was warm & welcoming when we arrived and was quick to offer us recommendations on restaurants in Dingle for dinner."
"Breakfast offered an incredible selection including yogurts, fruit, eggs, porridge, and pancakes."
"The rooms are large and clean, linens & towels fresh, and each room is complete with private bathroom as well. Additionally, there is free wireless to use - and you can use it from anywhere in the house including the sitting room where you can sometimes see Fungie swimming in the bay. Additionally, the sitting room has a refrigerator to store anything personal you need to refrigerate and makes a good room to hang out in and look at the view from the telescope."
"We visited Angela's Bed & Breakfast this past August (2007) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! You couldn't ask for a more friendly welcoming host; even when she conversed with my surly grandmother, she was very warm and pleasant."
"Located on the edge of Dingle with a nice view of the bay, we enjoyed the convenience of this B&B. We were minutes from the restaurants and pubs and were able to enjoy the night in town, but return to our quiet rooms away from the noise at the end of the night."
"Waking up to Angela's wonderful breakfast and homemade bread was the best and I can't wait to return!"
"Make sure you see my pictures!"
"We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. The location is just fantastic and we had a gorgeous room (spotless might I add) that overlooked Dingle Bay. From the upstairs balcony lounge we could even see fungi the dolphin out in the bay through the telescope! Breakfast was a feast compared to other B&Bs that we stayed at on our trip. All in all we'd a lovely stay and would highly recommend it to others."
"It was our first stay at Ireland and the Cill Bhreac House was the ideal choice. Angela's warm hospitality, the excellent breakfast (taste the pancakes!) and our clean room made us feel like home. The house is located ideally on the Dingle Peninsula, which is in our opinion even more beautiful than the world-famous Ring of Kerry. It can be reached easily by car from Kerry Airport within one hour."
"Our family of five spent two nights at Cill Bhreac in Dingle and had a fine experience. This is a cozy, family style bed & breakfast with a pretty garden. The beds were comfortable and warm, the breakfast was bountiful, and the scenery was awesome. Literally. The views from front and back were breathtaking. (Check out the posted photos.)"
"Angela has an assistant who helps in the morning and she was most kind to us. (I’m sorry I can’t recall her name.) The breakfast was tasty and the coffee was the best we had on our whole trip. They introduced me to the value of a French press coffeemaker."
"A gem of a B&B in an idyllic location overlooking Dingle Harbor. Angela made us and all her other guests feel so welcome. Her Oatmeal Porridge with Baileys Liquor and Brown Sugar certainly got our days in Dingle off to the right start. We will be back!"
"The beds were great - thick quilts too - and Angela is a marvelous hostess. Was a group of Archelogy grad students there - and their professor - and they loved it. Choice of gourmet full traditional Irish BK, or pancakes with Bananas (more like crepes really), Smoked Scottish Salmon with eggs, etc."
Great views of the town and harbour on one side, or the green hills on the others. Very reasonable - and probably as good of a value as you will find in Ireland, or for that matter, the UK."
Can't wait to get back - Dingle peninsula is fantastic, people are friendly, pubs are fun, food is great - especially the very fresh seafood, great history, etc. etc. etc."
"Defintely one of our favourite Irish B&Bs."
"Angela's warm hospitality and generosity made us feel right at home. Angela's home is in the most perfect setting - a mere 1 km from Dingle town and offering amazing views of Dingle Bay. Combine this with a reasonable price and great food and you can see why we were happy."
"Roll on next year....we will be back!"
"I would definitely recommend Cill Bhreac House as a base for touring the Dingle Peninsula."
"...Angela is a wonderful host. I watched her give restaurant information. She listened to each couple and gave different recommendations based on their preferences."
"...The views are incredible from the rooms in the front of the house and the sitting room on the second floor. Breakfast was excellent. She was able to serve a large number of people who all came to breakfast at the same time in an efficient and friendly way."
"A trip to Connor's Pass is well worth it to see both sides of the Dingle Peninsula."
"We stayed for 3 nights in February with my husband's parents. Angela was very accomodating, and the rooms were very nice, all having beautiful views of either the bay or the fields and mountains behind the house. The cooked-to-order breakfast was fantastic and a great way to start the day. I would stay there again and highly recommend it to others, especially if you have a car."
"We were more than happy with our stay at Angela McCarthy's house. Our room was at the front with views to die for over the bay. Our room was comfortable, clean and cosy with all the normal things you take for granted like tea and coffee, hair drier etc. I'm sure if there was something in particular that you wanted Angela would go out of her way to oblige, she is that kind of hostess. Breakfast was wonderful and even though we drove into town it would not be that far to take a taxi there are back if needed and I'm sure that you will get a better nights sleep at Cill Bhreac than in the middle of Dingle town."
"I stayed here with my mother, father and sister for two nights in May, 2005. Angela, our hostess, was phenomenal - she definitely went above and beyond the call of duty! We arrived quite late on our first night (about 1 a.m.!) and Angela stayed up to let us in. In true Irish fashion, she was bright-eyed and bubbly the next morning. Additionally, I had a refrigerated medication to bring along with me, and Angela happily accomodated my need. "
"Breakfast in the morning was wonderful - of course! The dining room was roomy and cozy at the same time."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't thank Angela enough for all the little things she did to go out of her way to make us comfortable."
"What an excellent B&B! The breakfast is fantastic - choose from a menu of at least nearly half a dozen dishes (pancakes, various types of egg dishes) cooked to order while you enjoy coffee, tea, juice, cereals, yogurt, etc. I loved the eggs with smoked Dingle salmon. The rooms have excellent views - either the bay or the valley and mountains."
"We spent 5 nigths there. It was really lovely. Great breakfast! Angela and Helen were so nice."
"Pictures from Dingle see: http://home.datacomm.ch/steinerpulimeno/irland/index.htm"
"Stayed at Cil Bhreac house at end of May for one night. Chose it for location and value, and it lived up to both of these."
"Staff was very pleasant, and breakfast was good."
"We just got back from ten days in Ireland and our two nights at Angela's house were so nice. The food was great and she was so welcoming. We will definitely visit there again on our next trip."
"We stayed for two nights here and they were just great. Our hostess, Angela, was very helpful with both information on the area and making sure our stay was great. My daughter and son-in-law had stayed at this B&B two years before and they recommended it to us. We had a room with a fantastic view out toward the bay and the morning we left we looked out to see cows going down the road quided by a dog. The food was great and was cooked to our liking. I would definitely go back here on my next trip. The drive around Slea Head and then over Conner pass is not to be missed. Also take a stroll down the streets of Dingle to get a feel of the real Ireland hospitality. Thanks Angela for mailing our postcards home for us."
"We just recently returned from our first trip to Ireland. The Cill Bhreac House was wonderful! Our hostess, Angela, was terrific. The room was very nice and accommodated our family of four. We had a huge picture window with a fantastic view of Dingle Bay! I still can't believe the incredible view! The B&B had a variety of sitting areas for guests use. A reading room upstairs with the same gorgeous view, and a small, atrium area which was very pretty. The breakfast was grand! One of the most delicious of all our stays! We were located just a short drive into town and Angela recommended a great pub which was having an Irish music session that evening. My husband (a fiddle player) and son (bohdran) were able to join right in. Angela was there as well! What a delightful hostess! We absolutely loved her and the Cill Bhreac House, and will definitely return on our next trip! THANKS!!"
"My wife and I stayed at Cill Bhreac House during our honeymoon to Ireland (November 30, 2004) and was astounded at how charming and warm it was. We actually stayed there on the last night of the season and enjoyed Angela's warm fire, hospitality and bay view room. I kept the window cracked all night and could hear the fishing boats slipping into the harbor along with the smell of fireplaces all over town. In the morning we awoke to fog rolling in over the bay, banana pancakes, scrambled eggs and fresh Dingle Bay salmon for breakfast. We can't wait to return!"
"Just spent a lovely evening there. Angela is so welcoming, bedroom was really comfortable with the best ever view of the bay, and could never beat the breakfast. Will definately try to revisit."
"If you're traveling to Dingle -- I would recommend the Cill Bhreac -- we called in the morning to book & Mrs. McCarthy was able to accomodate in a room overlooking the harbor - fantastic view! It's actually in Milltown -- west of Dingle -- but only a ten minute walk into town. Enjoy the drive into Dingle, it's among the best in Ireland. Good seafood at the Waterside Inn & drink with the locals at O'Flaherty's Pub -- also heard that Murphy's has good trad music."
"What a beautiful area to stay, make sure you stay longer than one night, one day is not enough time to take in all of the suroundings. Angela is a very plesant person, it is obvious she loves what she does. She has a nice breakfast selection, my pancakes were delicious. Great view of the mountains from our room, from the sitting room you have a beautiful view of Dingle Bay. We would stay here again if we come back."
"This is the most enjoyable of all the B&B's we have stayed in Ireland. Mrs. McCarthy makes this a truly "Irish" experience. The best breakfast of all. We return again and again."
"My stay at the Cill Bhreac House in Dingle was wonderful. Angela McCarthy is excellent hostess that makes a terrific breakfast. My room had a view of the bay that is one of the best views of all the B&B's in Ireland. The reading room also has the same view. I'm going back someday."
